General Requirements |
| EXAM POLICY: No make-up exams or quizzes will be given. Exams will be held for one week before being returned to give the student a chance to take the exam. If the students who miss the exam do not indicate to the instructor when the exam will be taken within that one and one half week period, the student will receive a 0 for the exam grade. Students will be tested on material presented in class. The instructor will NOT indicate the exact questions that will be on the exam. Any topic taken up in class may be on the exam. It is the student's responsibility to be in class and take notes. Review hand outs may be provided if the instructor feels it necessary. In most classes, all notes are placed on-line at depts.husson.edu/cookc/marketingcourses. |
| ATTENDANCE POLICY: After 9 cuts, the student will be suspended from the class. If the student comes late, leaves early, or comes and goes while class is in session, the student will not receive a check for attending that class. In most classes, part of the student's grade will be based upon class attendance. In large classes a seating chart may be necessary in order to take attendance quickly without wasting class time. | OUT-OF-CLASS WORK/HOMWORK POLICY: Completion dates are assigned to all out-of-class work. If the out-of-class work is not handed in on time, NO WORK will be accepted late unless the student has a written note from a doctor or nurse. People who play sports must have all work in early. No late papers will be accepted for sports related absences from the class. If you miss class one day and a homework was assigned, it is your responsibility to find that out. |
| STUDENT PLAGIARISM: If a take-home exam or exercise is given and returned answers are exact copies or near exact copies of one another, all students involved will receive a 0 grade. Photocopies of the papers will be made. Also, if you are asked to review a website, please do not copy from the website. Use your own words to summarize the site or answer questions about the site. |
| INCOMPLETE GRADE POLICY: Students must inform the instructor if they cannot complete the work in the scheduled time during the semester. If the student does not inform the instructor or does not show up for class and has not officially dropped the class, the grade turned in will be a failing grade. | BOOK POLICY: Students are expected to purchase the necessary books. The responsibility is on the student to have appropriate materials for the class. The instructor will NOT take the responsibility for students who do not have their own texts. |
