LIBRARY OWNED BOOKS
You may
supply the library with a list of the title you want on reserve, or you may
find and submit the books yourself.
PERSONAL COPIES OF
BOOKS
Bring
personal copies of books to the Circulation Desk and fill out a Reserve Slip
indicating your name, course name & number and length of the loan
period. The normal loan period for a reserve
item is Library Use Only, however you may decide to
let your reserve items by checked out overnight or for up to a week. Incomplete information may delay the
processing of books and thus, their availability to students. We caution that some amount of wear and
tear should be expected when the book is on reserve. Also, Reserve material will be checked out
electronically. A barcode will need to
be either handwritten on, or attached to, the material. Please let us know if this is a problem for
your material.
PHOTOCOPIED MATERIALS
Submit
photocopied materials to the Circulation Desk and fill out a Reserve Slip
indicating your name, course name & number and length of the loan
period. The normal loan period for a
reserve item is Library Use Only, however you may
decide to let your reserve items by checked out overnight or for up to a
week. Incomplete information may delay
the processing of books and thus, their availability to students. If the article is from a library owned
periodical, we ask that you or your work-study student photocopy the
article(s). If a large portion of a
periodical volume or issue is needed, the whole volume or issue can be placed
on reserve. No copyrighted materials
will be placed on reserve unless proper source acknowledgement is clearly
printed on the first page. Please
contact us if you have any questions.
TIMELINESS OF
SUBMISSIONS
It
takes time to process reserves and get them into the
computer, especially at the beginning of a new semester. To ensure that your material is on reserve
by the time your students need it, we ask that you submit materials at least 48
hours prior to the time it will first be asked for. All reserve submissions will be processed
in the order in which they are received.
UNRETURNED ITEMS
If a
student does not return an item on course reserve, they will be billed the
approximate price of the item. In the
case of personal copies of books, videos, cassettes, etc., you will be
reimbursed for the item from this charge.
STATISTICS
The
Library’s computer system will keep track of how many times individual
reserve items have been checked out.
These statistics are mailed to you at the end of each semester. They are also available for review
throughout the semester at the Circulation Desk.
REMOVING ITEMS FROM
RESERVE
You may
request at any time that materials be removed from reserve. At the end of each semester, all
reserve items are removed and returned to you through campus mail.
